Lincoln, Cameron and Bross

Bag four 14,000 + peaks in one eight mile hike!

This article is published on The Outbound.

Find your way to the Kite Lake trailhead near Alma, Colorado. The road up to the trailhead is suitable for most vehicals, if you have a low clearance vehical I would advise parking about a half a mile from the trailhead.

This hike is best described by the word WOW.

You'll find yourself immediately starting to climb after passing Kite Lake, the entire hike you will be above tree level taking in sights you've never seen before.

Democrat Mountain, has the most gain out of the four peaks and is recommend to do first, after in which you'll climb over to Cameron and Lincoln, hiking out another leg to Bross. After hiking Bross you'll make your way back down the trail the way you came - resulting in a loop. Also this hike is dog friendly!

Something to know, you will not find yourself alone on this hike. I would start as early as possible, and on a weekday if you can. If you show up on a Saturday morning at 7:30 am, you will be in a line of people on the trail the whole way. That being said - still worth your while.
